There is so much going on in this song and I love it. “Love Jihad” is a single from Skip&Die, off their new record for Crammed Discs called Riots In The Jungle. Can’t handle it right now, I need to lie down..

One of the more hypnotic videos I’ve seen in a while. “Speakers R-4 (Sounds)” from RP Boo, a long time producer and innovator of the footwork/juke style (or whatever proto-version of it existed back in the 90s). Check out his new album Legacy if you get a chance. Mind-melting.

"White Glove Test," by Iron Lung

Iron Lung’s “White Glove Test” is 2 discs of brutal powerviolence, hardcore punk, and dark industrial music from one of today’s most formidable groups. In as of this week at V89, it’s a seriously breathtaking experience. Thanks to Prank Records!

The official video for Tera Melos’ new single “Bite,” from their newest album X’ed Out. I could make a pithy joke about math rock and weird, arbitrary things that don’t fit but I really really like this song! This Sunday at V89. Thanks Sargent House.

Tonight at 7pm! It’s the V89 Cattle Call! Come visit me and many others in their final meeting as department heads for the wonderful WVFS. 128 Diffenbaugh’s the place. Just listen for the soothing sounds of Vitamin C’s “Friends Forever.”

Oh yeah, The Knife has a new album, no big deal. Here’s “A Tooth For An Eye,” from Shaking The Habitual. It’s at V89 right now! Call in and tell the DJs that you <3 it.

V, their fifth album, sees the classic guitar-based drone group Barn Owl taking things in a slightly new direction, incorporating elements of industrial, drone, and dub into their signature sound. Still fantastic as always, it’s sort of a bridge between their older work and current experimental techno artists like Demdike Stare. Here’s an album preview from Experimedia (the album is out on Thrill Jockey). This Sunday at V89!

Here’s a track from The North Borders, the new album from Simon Green, who records as Bonobo. It features Erykah Badu and it’s called “Heaven For The Sinner.” Get excited about things! Thanks Ninja Tune! This Sunday at V89.

This Sunday at V89, it’s the debut album from Stuart Howard, aka Lapalux. It’s called Nostalchic and it’s a delicious slice of chopped-and-future-beaten R&B tape warped electronica. It’s out on Brainfeeder. Here’s a song that, while not on the album, is in fact excellent, and features rapping from Busdriver. It’s called “Forlorn.” Cool!

Coming this Sunday: a gorgeous three way issue of Natural Snow Buildings/Isengrind/Twinsistermoon’s rare release from 2008 entitled The Snowbringer Cult. The group and solo projects of Mehdi Ameziane and Solange Guarte make beautiful drone songs tinged with folk, psych rock, world music, and field recordings. Here’s an edit of “Salt Signs,” from the second disc. Thanks Ba Da Bing!
